A number of pastors in the Presbytery of Scioto Valley are excited about establishing a pro-active network for training, encouraging and equipping our congregations from evangelism in our Presbytery. We are very interested in helping local pastors and congregations find ways that they could impact and ignite church members in the 111 churches of the Presbytery to think about and be comfortable doing evangelism.
We would like to invite you to come to an inaugural launch of what we are calling the Evangelism Advocate Network (EAN). This network is designed to be made up the pastor(s) from each church in our presbytery and one or two individuals from each of their respective congregations. We will begin by meeting quarterly with the expressed purpose of encouraging, equipping and training individuals for evangelism and helping them to develop evangelistic strategies in their various communities. We will also plan future training events, occasionally bringing in outside speakers, as well as, providing time for sharing resources and experiences from each of the participating churches.
We are hoping you will attend the inaugural gathering with two others from your congregations to find out more of what lies ahead for this "new" outreach initiative. We are gathering Friday night, March 26th, at the Little Turtle Golf Club, 5400 Little Turtle Way, Westerville, OH 43081. A social time begins at 6:30 with the dinner and program from 7:00-9:00pm. The dinner is free and we will be hearing from our speaker and trainer Rev. Bill Tenney-Brittian.
Part two of this great weekend event will take place Saturday morning, March 27th, from 9 am-Noon, at Central College Presbyterian Church, 975 S Sunbury Rd in Westerville. This session is open to as many as desire to come. We are working with a local motel to offer reduced rate lodging for those traveling a long distance. If you would like to be involved, or get more information, please feel free to call me, Jerry Kasberg, at Bethel Presbyterian Church 614-451-4975 (x102). You can either e-mail your reservation to our office at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or call Bethel and speak with our Administrative Assistant ext 101, to reserve your spot. We will need to hear from you by Monday, March 21st.
